Wet food or dry food?
If you ask Didi, the answer is ALWAYS wet food.
But here’s the thing – wet food is expensive, and some of it is… not great.
Let me save you some trial and error.

## Why Wet Food Matters
Cats don’t drink much water naturally. In the wild, they get moisture from prey.
Wet food helps prevent:
– Urinary issues (super common in cats)
– Kidney problems
– Dehydration
Plus cats go crazy for it. Didi acts like she’s at a fancy restaurant every time.

## What I’ve Tried
### Fancy Feast (Classic Pâté)
The budget option. About 50 cents per can.
Not the healthiest (some by-products and fillers) but Didi loves the chicken flavor.
Good for everyday feeding if budget is tight.
### Purina Pro Plan
Step up from Fancy Feast. Better ingredients, still affordable.
This is my go-to. Didi eats it happily every time.
### Sheba Perfect Portions
Comes in little twin-packs. No leftovers, no waste.
Great for travel or if you have a cat that only eats fresh.
Warning: Each portion is tiny. Grown cats need 2-3 packs.
### Tiki Cat
The fancy stuff. Real shredded meat you can see.
Didi goes absolutely INSANE for this. But at $1.50-2 per can, it’s a special treat only.

## Texture Matters
Every cat has preferences:
– Pâté (smooth paste) – Didi’s favorite
– Chunks in gravy – hit or miss
– Shreds – sometimes she loves it, sometimes she walks away
Buy single cans first. Test before buying a case.

## My Routine
I mix brands to keep costs down:
– Weekday meals: Purina Pro Plan
– Weekend treat: Tiki Cat
– Backup: Fancy Feast
This keeps Didi interested without breaking my wallet.

## The Real Answer
The “best” wet food is the one your cat will actually eat.
Try small portions first. Don’t commit to 24 cans until you know they like it.
