The Wrong Bowl = Cat Food Everywhere – What Didi Taught Me

“I used a ceramic bowl for Didi before. Too shallow, and the slope inside was too steep. Every time he ate, he’d paw the food out of the bowl. Cat kibble scattered everywhere. If I didn’t clean it up fast, the spilled food would get moldy. Gross. 😿

Then I switched to a stainless steel bowl with a stand. Height is just right, and the bowl has a slight tilt. Much better now – Didi can’t paw food out anymore. No waste, easy to clean, no mold. 😺

"Cat A 15° tilt protects your cat’s spine while eating[/caption]

**What I learned:** 🧐

- **Too shallow** = food flies out, especially if your cat likes to paw at it like Didi does
- **Steep inner slope** = kibble rolls out easily, wasting food
- **Material matters** = ceramic looks nice but breeds bacteria, plastic is worse
- **Wrong height** = too low strains your cat’s neck, too high they can’t reach

**What to look for:** ✅

✅ **Depth at least 4-5cm** – food stays in the bowl
✅ **Slight tilt (15° works great)** – easier for cats to eat, protects their spine
✅ **Stainless steel** – easy to clean, doesn’t mold, lasts forever
✅ **Elevated stand** – protects your cat’s neck and spine, better eating posture
✅ **Non-slip base** – Didi eats aggressively, bowl moves without this

I haven’t found an automatic feeder I like yet, so no comment on that. Will share when I test one. 🤖″
